Yes. I know. I’ve told you this book was almost finished before.
In my defense, I believed me every single time.
Ritual of Starlit Glass really is close now. Nylena and I are reading it aloud together, which is how a perfectly good sentence becomes a twenty-minute conversation. Once I hear how much better it could be, I can’t leave it alone.
That’s how “almost finished” keeps becoming “almost finished, but better.”
I know Avylena now. I know why Faerwyn walks into a room the way she does. I know what Sinystrad is afraid of becoming, and what these three are willing to risk for each other. Sometimes getting that right means changing a scene. Sometimes it means knowing when to shut up and let a look say enough.
Then there’s Kaelyndra.
Oh, Kaelyndra.
Dragons walking around in beautiful mortal bodies, discovering that desire, jealousy, and love are considerably more complicated when they’re happening to you? Turns out I have a few things to say about that.
Kaelyndra: Origins of the Dragon Courts has grown into far more than I expected when I started writing her.
Ashes of the Order is taking shape, too. Getting these people through Ritual is only the beginning. They still have to live with their choices.
I want these books in your hands. Badly. But when Nylena and I find something that makes the story better, I want that in your copy.
Thank you to everyone who’s been reading pieces, commenting, asking questions, and sticking around while I keep revising my definition of “finished.” Having people waiting to meet these characters means a hell of a lot.
We’re close. Yes, that word again. 😂
Holy hell, I can’t wait for you to read this.
Keep exploring the world.
